The Lust List | Mawi Jewelry

A couple of weeks ago, I discovered Mawi jewelry from a new favorite blog - the Republic of Chic.
Mawi jewelry personifies my style -- classic, with an edgy and unexpected twist. The pieces are modern and vintage at once, recalling Victorian stone settings and Indian jewelry, with modern cuts and shapes. It effortlessly combines the contemporary and the vintage, the old world and the cutting edge. I love it!

Feast your eyes!

The Lust List | Anndra Neen Jewelry

I was browsing through Elle Magazine's list of Fall must-have investment pieces, and discovered Anndra Neen Jewelry. Anndra Neen Jewelry is a line created by two Mexico-born sisters,  Pheobe and Annette Stephens, in 2009.

New-York based sisters Annette and Phoebe Stephens are the designer-duo behind the jewelry line, Anndra Neen. Inspired in part by her grandmother, Annette Nancarrow, well-respected painter and sculptor, but also by French medieval armour and architecture by Le Corbusier and Louis Khan, they create rustic-glamour rings, cuffs, necklaces and clutches in handmade copper, brass and nickel-silver.
 Trendland, by Anna Katharina
They draw their inspiration from a wide variety of cultures - including the Mexican culture that they grew up around, as well as other cultures from around the world, and use a wide variety of metals and materials to craft the jewels. The pieces aren't exactly cheap (they range from about $200 to about $1000 dollars each), but they certainly are lustworthy!!

I've been looking at their designs, and I am totally in love!! Take a look:

They have already designed some shoes, and these two below were my favorites. Especially loved the design on the wooden wedges!
Here are few places where you can shop for Anndra Neen:

And I leave you with some really cool shots of Anndra Neen Jewelry, shot by Richard Burbridge.

Enjoy!

LFW Winter/Festive | Sabyasachi Mukherjee

Of course Sabyasachi will get a post all to himself - after all, his latest collection once again left me droooooling. I simply loved it!! The clothes were gorgeous beyond imagination, as usual. The models looked like they had walked straight out of a very hip and fashionable by-gone era.

I wont say anything else - just sit back, relax, and feast your eyes.

In love with all the red and black. Also loved the silk dupatta on the left - the color and embroidery are just divine

Only Sabyasachi can make velvet look so wearable and non-outdated! Loved the velvet patiala pants. The embroidered ballet flats reminded me of the silk shoes from Alexander McQueen's Fall/Winter 2008 collection (another favorite collection of mine!)

More velvety goodness. The two models on the left looked so regal! And the velvet saris are to die for, especially the aubergine one.

This black sari was so beautiful! The subtle, refined embroidery and the full-sleeved blouse brought the whole look to a new level. The embellished collar on the blouse looked so regal!

Again loved the dupattas on the left. And how cute were the little kids that walked? And I have got to mention the men's clothes - they were just as beautiful as the women's! I'm in love with the embellished jackets and turbans.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the colorful jackets and flared tunics, the floral turbans with their embellished borders, and the silk churidaars! So much swag in one look!

Such beauutiful dupattas! I still can't get over them.

I want these dupattas! Both colors were absolutely divine.

Some gorgeous details from the clothes. These are the elements that make Sabyasachi so awesome :)

Updates + IIJW

Yes, yes it's been like three years since my last post. Ok, more like three months. I know, I have neglected this blog. A lot. I just didn't really have anything to blog about, so I left it alone. Instead, I spent tons of time on Tumblr (more on that later). But in the last couple of weeks Delhi Couture Week passed, and India International Jewelry Week is in progress, so fear not dear readers, my reviews are on their way!!

Firstly, Amrapali. Oh Amrapali! A quick snapshot of the collection - nothing exciting or new (as far as I could see), but every piece was oh-so-deliciously, sinfully drool worthy. There were maang-tikas, pendants, chokers, bangles, arm bands, belts, cuffs, bracelets, and rings, presented in a variety of techniques. My favorites were the impossibly thick gold cuffs, statement rings, kundan jewelry (especially the stuff modeled by Kangana Ranaut) and all of the lovely silver jewelry. I want them all! Alas.

But, a girl can dream :)

Here's your snapshot of Amrapali - more to come soon!

Stay tuned for reviews of Delhi Couture Week and more, coming soon :)

Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011 | Anita Dongre and Anamika Khanna

Lakme Fashion Week is upon us! First up in my review are collections by two lovely ladies - Anamika Khanna and Anita Dongre.

Anamika Khanna's collection featured an eclectic mix of menswear with traditional Indian finery. The dominant colors were black, white, and gray, with punches of magenta and aubergine thrown in. I loved the combination of cropped dress shirts with flowing lehenga skirts, and also really liked the embellished jackets. {Source and Source}

Anita Dongre's Timeless Collection featured soft hues of cream, eggshell, white and dust pink, with gold and silver embellishments. I loved most of the pieces - they looked effortlessly feminine, summery, and very clean. There was just the right contrast between embellishments and plain-ness.
